This policy applies to the VFR Buddy Android app published on Google Play by Flight Forge LLC (and the matching iOS app if listed later). It describes how we access, use, store, and share information. Contact: vfrbuddy@outlook.com.

Favorites, personal minimums, refresh intervals, recent searches (Pro), and onboarding flags are stored on your device. We do not operate a VFR Buddy server that receives this information.

Precise location is used only if you choose “nearest weather.” The app sends a geographic bounding box to NOAA’s public Aviation Weather Center API to find nearby METARs. We do not store a location history, and you can search by ICAO or city without granting location.

Weather requests (METAR, TAF, SIGMET, and related public aviation data) go over HTTPS to the NOAA/NWS Aviation Weather Center. Requests include airport identifiers you search or save. NOAA may log technical data such as IP address on their systems; we do not control NOAA’s logs.

We do not sell your information. We do not use advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs. The only third party we send data to for app functionality is NOAA/NWS AWC, as described above. Google Play (and your device OS) may process crash or install diagnostics under their own policies.

VFR Buddy is rated Everyone and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

On-device settings remain until you change them or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes local data. We do not keep a cloud copy of your favorites or minimums. See Delete data for more.

The current Google Play listing does not require a VFR Buddy account. VFR Buddy Pro is a $1.99 per year auto-renewing subscription billed by Google Play. We do not receive your payment card number. Google may share subscription status with the app so Pro features can unlock. Sign in with Google is not required for this build. This policy will be updated if we add accounts.

VFR Buddy is provided for situational awareness only. You are responsible for aeronautical decision-making and for obtaining an official weather briefing before flight. Weather observations can be missing, delayed, or incorrect.

Pro is an auto-renewing annual Google Play subscription. Payment is charged to your Google account at confirmation and at each renewal until you cancel in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions). Refunds follow Google Play policy. NOAA/NWS data is used under that public service. VFR Buddy is not affiliated with NOAA, the FAA, or the NWS. All rights reserved by Flight Forge LLC.

Favorites and settings live on your device. Uninstalling the app removes that on-device data.

There is no VFR Buddy cloud account in this Google Play build. Uninstall the app to remove on-device favorites and settings. For privacy questions, email vfrbuddy@outlook.com. If we later add sign-in, this page will describe how to request account and data deletion as required by Google Play.
